I am pleased to announce the publication of a new limited edition artist book entitled, ‘sooner later’.
The opening preview will also feature an exhibition of photographs lifted from the book’s pages and new work. Half of the proceeds from all sales will go to benefit a non-governmental organization called, Life Funds for North Korean Refugees: http://northkoreanrefugees.com/faq.html
My interest in this cause relates to the difficulty defectors and refugees of North Korea face while the regime restructures under a new leader. ‘sooner later’ contains portraits of my father and family during his final months battling cancer. His 9 siblings and parents were refugees of North Korea, having escaped the country by hiding in Russian military tanks just before the outbreak of the Korean War. By contributing proceeds to Life Funds, the memory of my father will help other Koreans get the protection and provisional support they need.
In order to raise funds for Life Funds, there will be many affordable works on view, including:
- $10 open edition art posters
- $30 ‘sooner/later’ limited edition artist books
- $85-$250 limited edition photographic prints
Please bring cash for any purchases under $50. Credit/debit cards accepted on purchases $50+.
Entry is free with light refreshments and snacks served. Everyone is invited!
